who is covering the AI boom

one thing right off the bat, I treat most of these "posts" as notes, so this one is something that I bound to improve a bit more on in the coming few days and weeks, I have been understanding where we stand (we as in individuals and even as organizations). I'd be covering the technical foundations, theories and concepts we are working with, physical and economical factors that are powering this boom, and social change

To sum up, have the following layers powering the AI innovation at the moment:

  1. chips/semi-conductors manufacturing (we have bottlenecks here now, in chip design etc.)
  2. frontier labs
  3. neo-labs (labs started by prestigious researchers ex-frontier lab talent, a good way to put it would be, neo labs are private instituitions, research focused, aren't looking for PMF, and are trying to cover up areas where frontier labs miss on, or an alternate method to improving or acheiving ASI). example: Ilya Sutskever's neo lab, Safe Superintelligence.
  4. then agents, harness and application layer players.
